It seems our new recruit got a little trigger happy and shot off a few emails and post prematurely. If you received that last post via RSS just disregard it. If you came here looking for updates because of the face book page or a message you received, the brewery/basement is closed to visitors for the remainder of the month. We are however working a few things and will have some big news coming for November!
I just wanted to take a moment to let everyone know that this is the last weekend in October that we will be brewing, we will be picking things back up the second Sunday of November. So if you need to get your fix, come on out to the Brewery tomorrow to enjoy some of our IPA and Pale Ale. We will be brewing more of our popular Pale Ale as well as pitching the yeast for our first cider. Send an email or call Jamie, Steve or myself if you don’t know how to get there.
If this is your first visit to the brewdudes site, let me be the first to say welcome. Don’t be shy, poke around, read the posts and leave us comments. To our loyal readers (we’ve been here almost a year now) we decided to re-give this welcome speech because our visits have SPIKED here lately thanks to a new facebook group we created a few days ago to spread the word about craft beer in Kennesaw, Georgia (ours mainly) and our vision of opening a brewery here!
OK. Here’s the skinny. We are three guys from Kennesaw who came up with an idea several years ago to open a microbrewery and bring more great craft beer to Georgia. Last year we decided that we would start brewing said craft beer on a weekly basis to generate some buzz and hone our brewing skills. After all, we needed something to do while we are waiting on the full scale brewery to open. This site will keep everyone up to date on the happenings around our test brewery (the brewery at 592); everything from Beer tastings, parties and new recipes, to naming the brewery and the beers all will be posted here. Again, thanks for visiting, check back often, and leave us some comments, we really want to know what you think!
Good afternoon readers, brewers, drinkers, and whoever else is bored enough to be on the interweb right now. I got assigned the drab duty of posting while the UGA game is on so I’m sure typing in between plays is making me sound stupid…
I’ll keep it short and sweet, just like me! hee hee. Tomorrow IS my birthday, by the way, so what better way to celebrate than to brew some delectable yet dangerous Six Wheat Under Belgian Wit?! We have some ready to drink from previous batches along with a pale ale.
We’ll have some food as well. Brats and chips and whatever else makes it here will be consumed along with the brew.
Call me (4) 625-7611 , Jamie, or Rob/ email/ smoke signal/ whatever! Come on over about noon and have a good one with us!
“But how can that be?” you ask, “it’s Wednesday!?”. Yeah, yeah. It is Wednesday and we are brewing up a batch of IPA. We weren’t really happy with the new IPA recipe we made a few weeks ago so… so… er… Steve just walked in the room and is taking over while Jamie changes clothes right in front of him.
We’re gonna try something new, interesting, and maybe even a bit scary. Since we were happy with the mash/malt/color of the first batch for the most part, we are going to mash the ten gallons like normal but then split it and make two five gallon batches so we can try out two diffrent hops schedules. It’ll be fun to see 1. if it works and 2. if they are any good.
Cross your/our fingers…
