Last Wednesday night was off the heezy fo sheezy! We had so many people show up to drink our awesome beer! And drink our awesome beer you did, 7 kegs to be exact, Rob we need to brew more beer. There were lots of familiar faces in the crowd and lots of new ones too (shout out to James who brought his CrossFit crew). See picture below. It was a little cool outside but two propane burners + one fire + hearty beer = soul warming happiness. Amidst all of the socializing we were able to crank out 12 more gallons of our delicious new IPA. Thanks again for coming and we will see you all real soon!
we uploaded all of the pictures to our facebook page so you can see them there.
The weather held out and we were able to brew up our new and improved IPA. Our new recipe has over 30 pounds of grain and close to a pound of hops. This one should be a drastic difference from our old recipe. Even with a massive grain bill stacked against us, we were able to do the impossible and not boil over despite having 14.84 gallons of wort in the kettle… and we have proof.
Thanks to Neal and his gang for coming out in support and bringing his refractometer to test out. I have to say though, you can’t go wrong with the trusty hydrometer… I would also like to thank Tyler for stepping up to the plate and purchasing a case of finely crafted ales for us to try from Total Wine.
Once again our busy schedules have gotten the best of us. I apologize for such a late follow up from last Wednesday, we had some friends in town for the last hoorah of the season. Thanks for all of the support though, we hope you all enjoyed our Wit and Terry’s nut brown.
I promise the next posts will have pictures, I keep getting distracted at the house and have to resort to posting from my iPhone…
We will be brewing this Wednesday! We are going to try a new IPA recipe. As the title of this post says, we are playing catch up right now and have no beer for you to drink. Don’t let that stop you from coming out though. We love the support and would love to talk about various craft beers as we brew. So if you can make it, be sure to bring your favorite craft beer. Please, no cheap domestic lagers. Save that for Saturday football. We will have more brew by next Wednesday and an octoberfest that’ll be ready Mid October.
Also, our friend Neal mentioned he might bring over his refracometer. Should be a neat instrument to try out. See ya’ll Wednesday!
And that’s exactly how I would rate on a scale of 1 to 10 the success of our first real Wednesday evening brew! Many, many, thanks to all our friends who came out so enthusiastically and in impressive numbers. If, just guessing (cause I was really freakin busy counting plato points and not people), I would say we had 35 folks or so come out! We kicked two kegs in the process and celebrated a birthday all at the same time. It was a mutli-tasking, fun-filled, dance music-bumpin, blowout! Oh, and we brewed some beer…
All went well with the IPA last night. With the exception of being forced to substitute hops, we came pretty close to the original brew of a few weeks ago.
Thanks again for coming out. See you next week.
I just wanted to take a moment to let everyone know that this is the last weekend in October that we will be brewing, we will be picking things back up the second Sunday of November. So if you need to get your fix, come on out to the Brewery tomorrow to enjoy some of our IPA and Pale Ale. We will be brewing more of our popular Pale Ale as well as pitching the yeast for our first cider. Send an email or call Jamie, Steve or myself if you don’t know how to get there.
