Despite the torrential downpour today, we brewed up our Oatmeal Stout. Thanks again to Neal and the gang plus TAYLOR and Ed for weathering the storm and showing up to brew night sans beer. I’d also like to point out that David showed up and expressed interest in brewing, we made him clean a lot… but you’ve got to start somewhere. After we took our original gravity, we thought we were going to wind up with a pretty big beer (aka… it’ll get you drunk), but we only missed our OG by 2 points. For those who couldn’t make it, I snapped a few photos with my iPhone. See below… I’d also like to mention that we are on track for having 10 gallons of Wit ready for next Wednesday! Check back often for updates on our progress on brewing and starting a craft brewery in Kennesaw. We wouldn’t be where we are now without all of our fans support!
We also fixed the kegerator! Happy brewing everyone!
Once again our busy schedules have gotten the best of us. I apologize for such a late follow up from last Wednesday, we had some friends in town for the last hoorah of the season. Thanks for all of the support though, we hope you all enjoyed our Wit and Terry’s nut brown.
I promise the next posts will have pictures, I keep getting distracted at the house and have to resort to posting from my iPhone…
We will be brewing this Wednesday! We are going to try a new IPA recipe. As the title of this post says, we are playing catch up right now and have no beer for you to drink. Don’t let that stop you from coming out though. We love the support and would love to talk about various craft beers as we brew. So if you can make it, be sure to bring your favorite craft beer. Please, no cheap domestic lagers. Save that for Saturday football. We will have more brew by next Wednesday and an octoberfest that’ll be ready Mid October.
Also, our friend Neal mentioned he might bring over his refracometer. Should be a neat instrument to try out. See ya’ll Wednesday!
Brewing is happening tonight and the weather should cooperate with us. Come on by around 7 for the tasting as well as gain new insight into how beer is made.
A few things you should know about tonight..
1. We have limited beer as we took the summer off so we will have our plastic 9 oz. tasting cups out instead of the usual pint glasses so that everyone gets a taste.
2. Our friend Terry has donated 5 gallons of a Nut Brown Ale for everyone to try. He will also be there tonight if you have questions for him.
3. We be low on beer, so please pour sample servings. We promise to make more.
4. Disregard any misspellings or grammatical errors as I wrote this from my iPhone…
Thanks for everyones support and see you tonight!
