Cool(er) Weather, Georgia Football and a 5000 mL Flask?

It’s a bit refreshing to once again be able to walk outside and not instantly be overcome by heat and humidity.  With the hot summer nights coming to an end, the cooler weather brings all of our fall favorites, good home crafted beer, Georgia Football and cookouts! Who could ask for more?

Well to the start the season off right, we decided to go big! After a trip to our local brew store, BrewMasters Warehouse,  We decided to brew an American Style Barley Wine.  With more than 40lbs. of grain this is going to be a monster beer! And, as we all know, monster beers need monster starters so we decided to invest in our very first 5000 mL flask! It worked great for the starter and we are looking forward to brewing tomorrow. If you’re around stop by and say hi!

Its going to be a great year!

No Brewing Tonight

I know, and as sad as that news is to all of our loyal followers, I will leave you with some happy news: BACON FEST

Whats better than bacon? Not much. Whats better than Beer and Bacon…NOTHING. So if you’re looking for something to do this weekend head on out to Bacon Fest at Dads Garage in Virgina Highland.

A mere $35 gets you unlimited bacon and beer, from jalapeno-infused pig crisps from P’cheen to bacon & maple donuts, plus attractions like “Hunt an Improviser” (throwing water balloons at the performers), a “Redneck Wine Tasting”, funny impressions, and “Children of the Corn-Holing”. For tuneage, DJ Baron Saturday will spin between sets from The Fingering Brothers, the Stumbling Troubadours, and Bases Loaded, because RBI Baseball was borrowed and never returned by Jimmy Weeks, who moved to a different district.

Saturday at Dad’s Garage: 280 Elizabeth St, Ste C-101; Virginia Highland; 404.523.3141

Will Social Network for Beer!

Theres a new place online for Craft Beer junkies to keep up with their favorite breweries.  Its called BreweryFans.com.  They actually do a pretty good job describing what they do so in their own words:

BreweryFans.com connects craft beer fans with the breweries they love. We enable fans to find the beer they want from our ever growing database of distributor data, join content rich fan pages, receive email alerts on new distribution, and get messages from breweries on events and beer festivals. A brewery can review what beers their fans have tried, determine where best to distribute next, and read their fans stories. Tell your friends and your favorite breweries to join the BreweryFans.com revolution!”

I tinkered around on the site this morning and thought it looked pretty interesting. Bottom line is we all love Craft Beer and anything to help promote it is fine by us.

Happy Perusing!

St. Patrick’s Day Celebration

This is pretty much a copy and paste post.

We have been waiting all year for St. Patrick’s Day and this year it happens to fall on a Wednesday; the planets must be aligned.

We will have plenty of Irish Food, Beer and Music and we are getting started early, so you can still come by even if you have other St. Patty’s Day plans.

Hope to see everyone next Wednesday night. And as always bring a friend or two!

New Year, New Beer

We have been less than dedicated to our loyal followers the past decade, but that’s all going to change! This year we will strive to at least inform you of special brews, beer events, our shenanigans or the weather at least once a week. So, for this week you all should know that we are brewing Wednesday. Don’t let the chilly weather stop you from coming out, we have a fire pit! See everyone Wednesday, we’ll have some good brews on tap!
